China being China does what they do best. Steal tech and make cheap copies (aka Chinesium). Also, Alphabet (Google) most likely had their Project Loon 'payload' manufactured in China. If you look at the pic from Google's Project Loon balloons, they look identical to that currently being reported. Has any HAM operator tried a spectrum analyzer or RF detector on them? Any decent hacker should be able to takeover control of those balloons. No different than taking over control of quadcopters or drones.
