Current estimates indicate there may be over 300,000 anchor babies born each year in the U.S., thus causing illegal alien mothers to add more to the U.S. population each year than immigration from all sources in an average year before 1965." |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 73631351 United States 02/03/2023 04:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Australia rescinded birthright citizenship in 2007, as did New Zealand in 2006, Ireland in 2005, France in 1993, and the United Kingdom in 1983. This leaves the United States and Canada as the only remaining industrialized nations to grant automatic citizenship to every person born within the borders of the country, irrespective of their parents' nationality or immigration status. And nope it should not be abolished because it reaches further than the idea of the OP's. :DOCSRBAFFLED::redblueLED::DONTBEAPANDEMICS: Only you can stop the fake pandemic for yourself, no one will ever tell you the pandemic is over. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73752994 The 14th Amendment insures the law applies to everyone equally It was made to ensure the offspring of former African American slaves would be considered equal citizens. Even Native Americans were not considered US citizens until after 1920. |

To learn who rules over you, find out who you are not allowed to criticize. When the government is wrong, it's dangerous to be right. The secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant. -Robspierre |

Quoting: Butch DeFeo And nope it should not be abolished because it reaches further than the idea of the OP's. i listed modified as a choice, in case you didn't notice. That's cool, but would the current commies in power care if it was modified or not? They will pour even more in over the border. :DOCSRBAFFLED::redblueLED::DONTBEAPANDEMICS: Only you can stop the fake pandemic for yourself, no one will ever tell you the pandemic is over. Anonymous Coward User ID: 84812054 United States 02/03/2023 04:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Has it been put before the Supreme Court? Don't the parents have to be in the United States LEGALLY? If not, then yes, it should be modified that the parents have to be legal permenant residences of the United States. Then we can make clear the requirements for President AND any successors, that his/her parents had to have a legal, U.S. citizenship and be born on the physical land of one of the 50 United States for him/her to be a natural born citizen and eligible to be president. |

The 15th in 1870 guaranteed Black men the right to vote, but no women, including White women. Native Americans were not even citizens until 1924. A succession of comedic errors. Now we get to live the punchline. --------------- Don't care. Still voting Trump! ---------- |

I mean, if they wanted an amendment to confer citizenship on freed slaves then just write it that way. I guess all the insurrection/rebellion language was geared towards Confederates, but give me a break, you can't disenfranchise the entire South. That isn't practical or logical. I do like the fact that it applies due process to across the board to everyone. I don't think it was intended to apply to anchor babies, but here we are. The Anchor Baby interpretation has never been brought before the Supreme Court. The real question is why hasn't MTG or one of these MAGA people proposed a law clarifying that Anchor Babies are not citizens of the USA, but Citizens of the country to whom their parent's citizenship points. Then it would go b4 the SC and ruled up or down |
