I don't know much about weapons, but I know a little bit more about physics (but really not much). And I am pretty sure that since at least on previous Sec' of Defense was a trained physicist (Ash Carter under Obama) then our weapons and their tracking systems have more to do with science than they do with gunpowder and projectiles (which of course is science too).

Anyway, that's one bad ass weapon. Seems like it makes a hole through whatever it needs to.

Double tapping medics trying to help injured or carry dead is a war crime.

Having the bad luck to have Russia on its eastern border was asking for trouble. Ukraine has no choice but to fight for its survival. It's a good thing that NATO has reacted to supply modern weapons of war for Ukraine. When Russia's casualties reach 300,000, their army will fall back behind Russian borders.

Anti-tank guided missile (ATGM)

I respectfully disagree with those saying ATGM or rpg or even tank round.

Explosion is small for a tank round.

It's not firing from a short range as those thinking it's an atgm.

Proximity (or command detonated) round in my opinion.

When I was in, they were developing this for 40mm ammunition but it wasn't fieldable at the time.

Think Russians have similar in 57mm.


Basically, you lase a trench or crater, shoot just above it and the round explodes just above and rains shrapnel down into the trench/crater/ bunker.

The point of this is to use a direct fire weapon in dual purpose indirect fire.

Holy grail for trench warfare.

1 weapon system for direct and indirect fire.
