Reminds me of lawnchair man...dude in CA (naturally) hooked up a crap ton of helium balloons to an aluminum lawn chair in the early 80s and soared up to 16,000 feet.

Took a CB radio, some sandwiches, and a pellet gun to shoot out balloons when he wanted to come down.

Went right trhough controlled airspace in Long Beach. Finally came down after shooting some balloons and dropped his pellet gun overboard.

Cops arrested him and he became a nationwide celebrity.

After some hard times a decade later, he went out into the forest and shot himself.
