Canola oil is toxic

Yeah..that shit is WAY toxic.
Organic olive and coconut oil for me.
I will use some gmo free peanut oil when I have the occasional fry party.

Those are the ones I use and also butter and ghee.

My mom loved watching cooking shows and she lived with us so I used to hear them all the time. I was surprised at how often they used canola oil. Do some of these supposedly "great" chefs actually use that garbage in their cooking or is that just for tv? Even some of the shows that were supposed to be healthy cooking used canola oil.

I never liked canola oil, just seemed off, plus I have read bad stuff about it.

Vegetable oil is bad. It doesn’t break down wel and causes inflammation. I’m trying to limit all vegetable oil and palm oil. Olive and avocado are where it’s at but you don’t need lots of oil period.

I use butter in place of any oils. I love the flavor. It's not going to hurt me this stage of life.

I think we should glorify in the gift of food and being human creatures, we actually can enjoy it. It is such a great gift from God. Anyhow, very happy to see that many here are in the know. The TV chef cooks are just feeding the lie. Any good cook or chef knows better.

I've tried to make mayo with EVOO but it tastes nasty. But I know that's because I don't know what I'm doing LOL

You are welcome. It's a good reason to start using butter as far as I'm concerned.

I have heard of it and all the wonderful benefits it professes to have but am not familiar with it. It seems like it could be easily imitated.

I am not in need of any better health so have not persued it further. It seemed costly.

Yep I don’t eat it if I can help it and certainly don’t buy “vegetable oil” it’s pure poison. Coconut oil and olive oil ftw

What do you get when you plant a RAPESEED?

We use coconut, olive, avocado, as well as a touch of pistachio and walnut oil for dressings or baking. Used to use peanut oil for deep frying once in a while.

We most often use beef tallow these days, and I just acquired some duck fat to add variety. Frying with these 2 is boom.

We have actively avoided canola, soy, sunflower, etc.. for almost 20 years now.

Go to the butcher and ask for beef suet. It's the fat around the kidneys.

People used to cook with lard/tallow back in the day before these toxic seed oils came out. Everybody was way healthier compared to now.

This has been known for 75 Yrs. Hydrogenated corn oil is just as bad and most everyone uses it. BTW,I mix with 10% acetone makes a great oil/penetrating oil Used it for Yrs. I cook with organic Ghee. It has a very high burn point.

High oleic seed oils are some of the best. Grapeseed oil has too many Omega 6's. If you want to go natural, Olive and Avocado oil are fine, but many of these "healthy" oils are not good for frying. Canola oil has decent levels of omega 3 and 9, but I'm not sure about this optic nerve stuff.

Make sure the oils you use are not rancid when you use them.

Small amounts of it might have some health benefits, but too much can be detrimental, to the liver for example.

Only Y-Ts eat canola oil, is what you're implying?

My son is allergic to soy - soy and "vegetable" (soy) oil is in everything. You also cannot purchase bread without soy in it. He is also allergic to nuts. So we use canola oil. Will have to look into this now, this is hard to believe though considering soy is subsidized and a known estrogenic.
