A Phase II trial in glioma conducted under the auspices of the National Cancer Institute was halted due to poor accrual, after Burzynski failed to agree with the investigators on possible expansion of the eligibility criteria. Nine patients were accrued, six of whom were able to be evaluated for response. There were no objective responses, and all six showed evidence of tumor progression after treatment duration of between 16 to 66 days. The mean time to treatment failure (progression or discontinuation due to toxicity) was 29 days. All nine patients died before the study closed, all but one death being due to tumor progression. Although the authors of the article claimed that the small sample size precluded “definitive conclusions,” the results of the patients in the trial are clearly extremely disappointing. Burzynski continues to administer his "treatment" by claiming that he is running clinical trials, yet these trials are solely overseen by him, have been ongoing for decades, and have released no results. The only outside trial (mentioned above) was an abysmal failure. Burzynski furthermore takes advantage of patients by charging them exorbitant sums to participate in his "trials," in which again the results are never published. His documentary has been debunked in depth by other excellent writers (search google for "burzynski skeptic"). |

Contrary to chemotherapy and radiation, isn't it? Touché, However still: [link to www.ministryoftruth.me.uk] We had an appointment at Burzynski clinic this morning to tell them our plans. Dr Burzynski explained that yes the tumour has enlarged but this is due to the tumour breakdown because of the treatment. The fact is it is working. The problem is there is very little room for more breakdown/swelling. We have made the decision to continue with the treament and hope other other medications will control the swelling. |

It did seem to help. He made it about a year after diagnosis but died of pneumonia. It was expensive. There were fund raisers to help pay for his treatment that I contributed. They posted updates during his treatment that indicated it was helping. I can’t recall if it completely eliminated the cancer. |

He also charges from tens to hundreds of thousands USD per treatment and makes big bucks However, the idiots in this thread all fell for it without doing any scrutiny. |

And, they stop tracking supposed cured people for reoccurence of side effects after 5 years. That's not the point The fact that chemo and radiotherapy has mixed results, doesn't mean that every other alternative treatment is the shit I only posted it to highlight that even this one isn't side-effect free Chemo and radiotherapy at least have a lot of clinical trials and their efficacy, albeit limited, has been confirmed This one however has no proof it's effective, costs tons of $, is only offered by one clinic, has no clinical data so it has all the hallmarks of a SCAM You may believe it is not a scam and I won't argue with you, but just by statistical probability it most likely is a scam |
