Ron Paul for Speaker of the House
Seems like a no-brainer.

Any objections?

I have no objections, but republicans might care. They're basically all democrats, so they might miss those giant spending bills.

He's getting old.

He's in his 80s I think. 87, wow, he may not want too.

I do like him though.

He doesn't want it because he's going to be too busy with the new Church and Pike Investigations.

Chip Roy could do it but he's not as popular as Ron Paul.

I picked Ron because he's well liked, and well known, and not in charge of anything so he's available.

He's unlikely to get elected speaker but somebody should nominate him at least just to expose the machinations of the fratboy mafia and sorority syndicate and the hypocrisy of fake conservatives.

Somebody should nominate him, and make the case for him as speaker so that the public can see the true colors of the reps they elected.

The other thing that would make it fun is that he's not in congress anymore.

You don't have to be a member to be speaker.

It'd be fun to use that.

Good points.

And that job could be hard on an older person, but I think he has the poise and experience to enjoy it instead.

Obviously, he's not going to be elected speaker but somebody should try just for fun at least.

Actually, by a quirk of the constitution, you don't have to be a member of congress.

People were floating the idea of making TRump Speaker for awhile.

That way you impeach biden/harris at the same time Trump becomes POTUS again.

Feel free to pitch that on another thread, if you are a MAGA, I'd rather not cover that in this thread more than that.

Might well be, and if a rep wants to nominate him they should ask him first.

But I'll wager he'd enjoy doing it for a year, and that would give the GOP time to get their shit together and pick his successor.

Re: Ron Paul for Speaker of the House
Could someone else be speaker?
On Tuesday, Republicans nominated candidates including Biggs, Jim Jordan of Ohio and even Lee Zeldin of New York, who left the House last year to run for governor in his state. The speaker does not have to be a House member. Some Republicans have toyed with the outlandish idea of nominating Donald Trump. McCarthy says the former president still backs him – and Trump says he backs McCarthy....

Feel free to toss out other names.

Off the top of my head I can't think of many house members I want in that job.

Got a good Governor?

Re: Ron Paul for Speaker of the House
I think every one of us capable of critical thinking has come to the same conclusion as this age old saying. Positions of power historically attract the worst people. This is what draws in the malignant narcissists that pillage us and gaslight us in the process.

With that being said, we need someone to be speaker that does not want that position. To be blunt, we need people in office that do not want the power. Rand Paul seems like he truly isn't there for the power and control aspect. He's clearly not establishment. He's really hard to watch, not because of his actions though. His colleagues all sit there like they are bored while he pours his heart out about insane government spending and endless foreign wars. Remember the filibuster where he read his kid a bedtime story? I especially liked that.

Establishment turds that claim to be conservative ignoring the canary in the coal mine. For real, they should be rallying behind this man for president. True conservatives need to be persistent with their friends that do not understand conservatism and just vote red. A good portion of republicans are only conservative until they get in office, then it's an insider trading/special interest groups free for all.

Exactly

That's why I call it the Fratboy Mafia and Sorority Syndicate.

The mean popular kids get the leadership roles, when in fact the nerds they used to abuse are the ones with the life experiences and wisdom to do the job right.

Ron Paul would be awesome for speaker. He's calm and very well articulated. Also loves the constitution which is something that'll prevent it if people from voting for him in off chance he ever got the nod.
