We just had a thunderstorm and rain blow through in west Michigan, in January! I don’t remember every seeing that in my life here, and i am over 60, ten days ago we had 2 feet of snow on the ground and it is all gone

Hummm..... I bet this was why I had a dream of severe flooding almost like a tsunami, big waves of water. I thought it was from an earthquake but it could be from this.

What makes this more serious than just a couple of inches is that the state has just received 5-6 inches in the last couple of days, so the ground is soaked already, with not enough time for it to move through the earth. Like deserts with flash floods, with the sand creating a natural barrier for water, needing time for it to perk down, the central valley has a very high clay content, creating a slow perk. If there is high winds, a lot more trees will be falling, too. My friend's brother got killed when his car hit a tree which fell onto highway 26 on New Year's Eve. It was around a bend and the rain was coming down so hard, he didn't have time to react. He was on his way to pick up his son. My other friend's choir room at Lincoln High School got totally flooded, so this next wave is going to be so dangerous. Also, if you have a large tree near your house, stay on the other side! And watch where you park your car!

My 96 year old grandma lives between Sacramento and Truckee. I'm thinking she will just get a lot of snow?

I believe snow levels will be above 6k feet initially, lowering to 5500.
