Book keeping software recommendation?
Ok, I know this is totally off topic but I'm looking for a recommendation.

2022 was a tumultuous year for me. I'm trying to get my life back on track.

What software do you recommend for keeping track of expenses, income, etc. It would be a plus if there wasn't a monthly subscription to it.

Thanks in advance.

Business bookkeeping? Or personal budget? I recommend Wave for small businesses just getting started and not wanting to pay for bookkeeping software. I currently don’t have a recommendation on personal budget. I prefer a spreadsheet. YNAB is a popular one in the industry.

Re: Book keeping software recommendation?
I use Quicken for my personal books, but I have also used it when I did bookkeeping for businesses. I bought the software outright -- no monthly fee.

Excel is easy to use, too, and you may already have it on your computer. If not, I think Google Sheets is a free spreadsheet. I think Apple has a version as well.

Other options that I have heard of are YNAB (You Need A Budget), Mint, and Dave Ramsey used to have something on his website. There are a ton of personal finance apps for your phone or tablet, but I wouldn't trust those since apps can be so buggy.

And last but not least, a good old fashioned notebook and pen has never let me down. You can also find free printable budgets and income & expense sheets on the internet.

Good luck, and I hope you find what you're looking for.

Re: Book keeping software recommendation?
excel is the easiest and if you don't want to pay for it, open office. I would avoid google sheets.. because google.

Dave Ramsey has some good info if you are looking to get finances together.

I don't agree with all of his advice, but Dave Ramsey has no doubt helped millions of people get their finances on track. Here's a link to the free tools on his website.
