If Trump had given pardons / call off the witch hunt against to the likes of Snowdon and Assange then he would have gained some credibility. By not doing so, it showed that he was powerless while in office, or he caved into TPTB and joined the Swamp.

I think the media reporting that Trump is being considered the Republican candidate for 2024, know that he has a fanatical following, appearing huge, whereas in fact there are relatively few actually support him.
