This quote, or something worded very similarity, was on a carved rock in the Tibetan made movie Samsara, about a monk who lived in a cave for a long time leaving the order and going to live normal life, and eventual return to the order.

It's just an analogy, the wave on the ocean might even be more accurate.

What is a wave ? It's a separate energy manifestation of the ocean.

The wave and the ocean are the same, the experience of being a wave come and go. It comes from the ocean and return to the ocean.

I do not think I am apart. I am apart. A, part. In the same way that there is an inside and an outside. The fact that there is an inside and an outside is not nebulous, nor is the fact that each expression of The Infinite is a unique PART of IT.

Some parts experience Absorption with It. Satori. Sometimes spontaneously. Other times through extended periods of time alone in silence and or darkness.

However even the highest avatars that have walked this earth were also separate parts of the Creative Source from which we've all sprung.
