I was mistaken.

I think the first alcoholic drink ever I tasted (apart from beer) was rhum.

I was 16, I was doing a student job at an alcohol factory and at the end of that job I bought myself there a small bottle of rhum, as that's what that factory was producing.

They made me wash machine parts in one of those badly smelling chemicals, with my bare hands. I should have sued them.

I was lucky, I did not get cancer (or maybe it was my Guardian Angel).

When my drinking was out of control, I would do a fifth of Scotch per day, often with a bottle or two of red wine, and would end the night completely sober (at least, it felt that way.)
