According to Ford Authority, the first step the USFS (which is a division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture) is taking is to test out Ford F-150 Lightning pickups. The agency will be working to optimize its fleet size — three pickups are being sent to national forests in Pennsylvania and Michigan and a forest along the New Hampshire and Maine border. Throughout the trial, the agency will be piloting studies to determine just how many vehicles they’ll need, how they’ll charge them, and just how much people love (or hate) the idea of electric vehicles.
