I cooked cube steaks tonight
Nothing wrong with cube steaks. Trick is not to cook them too long. Flowered up four pieces in a zip lock, generously salt and peppered. Used two pans with hot olive oil , cooked uncovered about 8minutes, alternating sides. Topped with crispy dried onions and country gravy. They were very tender for a cube.

Butter by itself can burn easily. It's best to start with a little olive oil then add butter.

Did you use a pound of beef or just a few ounces? Sounds pretty delicious, also wondering how long you fried them? Until they were medium done(pink on the inside) or did you give them a nice sear?

Four cube steaks, two pans, seared each side one minute and flipped four times.About 8 minutes total. Kept a touch of pink middle.
