I remember that hopey changy thing back in 2008 when my health insurance went from $300 to $1200/month...

But DC has had a homeless problem for longer than you know...In the 1980's when we went to Washington on 8th grade field trip, there were homeless idiots flipping us off as we got on the bus lol

Having worked at Treasury for years in the 90’s, and walked those streets every day for years…. The streets around the White House and capitol were spotless.

There were dozens upon dozens of guys walking up and down the streets and in the parks picking up the smallest piece of trash.

The trash cans were emptied even if no one was on the streets all day and the cans were still empty.

Grass was green and always cut.

Bushes and trees trimmed.

Decay…. Society has decayed. Government has decayed…. It shows up in the streets.

It was a helluva experience… but I was glad to move on and I never looked back. I can’t imagine how people feel about it today.
