As the saying goes, "when in Rome do as the Romans do" the Catholic church usurped an abandoned throne, nothing else changed you are correct. Well except their pantheon of gods and godesses, they gave them Christian names.

I’m Catholic. I’m glad the Church is condemning those cowards in Germany who are caving to the LGBT mob. Having said that, Christians used to preach in the middle of my college campus at the busiest location (fish bowl at the University of Oregon) and yell at kids about how they were going to burn in hell. I suspected that they were actually satanists trying to give Christians a bad name and I told them so to their face in front of a large crowd. Of course they only responded to me with more mockery, condescension, and perverted interpretations of sacred scripture. People like that clearly don’t have a relationship with Jesus, who instructed us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. Maybe tone it down with the “God’s gonna throw them in the lake of fire!” talk if you want people to take you seriously. I don’t wish hell on anyone. To hate another is to commit murder in your heart. You are my brother or sister in Christ. God bless.
