The dean in the story didn't say Jesus was transgender - he said about a trans body - a body which ^^^ crosses - from one side to the other - goes beyond -

OK I am not saying the dean is saying that - but I understand that concept, because:

when we are told the Bible says a rib was taken from Adam and this was used to make Eve; this is not correct - the word which has been translated as "rib" is disputed: in fact, it is more likely to mean: "from the side of" i.e being taken from one side to another side.

My understanding is that people who are included in the community are "as man" - and those not yet included are "with woman"; the woman is as the womb - the place of nourishment where you learn and grow so you can cross into visible existence and inclusion: "as man". This is metaphor and analogy.
The people who comprise those "as man" form - in the whole "the body".

If someone errs and does not behave as a civilised person ought to - they go back to the learning place - the womb - to be nourished - so they may be re-born back into the community once more.

So - you can go from the woman to the man - or from the man and to the woman - and then back to the man again - and thus the body is transient - it crosses between the two sides - the side of inclusion and the side of exclusion; everyone regardless of side is with God and is loved - and everything is done for the good of the whole.

We can see in the image on the link that blood is flowing from the rib - from one side - of the body of Christ - and is actually flowing down to the place where there is seed or egg.

It is quite possible to say the artist who painted this image did with deliberation form the wound shape as a vagina - to show the body of the blood - the kin moving from the womb - to man - and also possible to say that the blood of man is flowing back to the region associated with conception and birth.
It is a very clever painting with a lot of analogy depicted.

Blood is another word for family and kin; everyone is part of the family - but some cross from one side to the other sometimes - if they need to learn and grow - or when they have done so - and this time was their "birth"; coming forth into the community.

If you read the article, it does state that the dean did not say that Jesus was trans-gender - the word trans has come in modern times to mean something other than its other etymological definition.

It is quite possible in the above sense and with that understanding to say that "the body" of "Christ" was "transient" "transferred" "transported" "transposed" "transversed".
