The secret to my happiness? INSIDE
My secret that brought me from suicide to a livable life:

Be yourself as selflessly as possible.

In my experience people pick up on the genuineness and respond in kind. What ends up happening is beautiful and makes life livable again. The ones that don't respond in kind haven't figured out this secret yet. It's that simple.

Start with being yourself. Always.

Don't you agree? What's your secret?

Beer, chicks, and money mostly. But being myself is somewhere in there I suppose.

Happiness is a state of mind. No person or external material or situation can give it to you (at least not lasting). It can only come from inside yourself. You must be balanced in yourself in both the positive and negative and approach life neutrally. To see reality and real truth as it is, without legacy bias. You must strive internally and no one can give you that. It’s your story. Your personal journey. You have to look within yourself and work things out. I have found on my own personal journey that we must actively pursue knowledge, progress and evolving our consciousness and if we do this while in harmony and in conformity with universal laws (not religious commandments here) then your conscience will give you reprieve from your past and open you to many positive insights. I wish you success my fellow sojourner.

I'm doing the opposite cause my experience is people will suck the life out of those who are selfless. Being this way in a ghetto world isn't productive in my experience. I've turned nearly 100% inward and no longer feel I exist to be a slave to others. I'm much happier and less stressed now.

In the 80's neighbors would share stuff, now try that.

I was once a very in tune empath. So much so that I could instantly alleviate others burdens and leave them with a sense of everything will be ok. But I would be physically drained from being around too many people or too much negativity. Some people know and see that in others and feed off of you like a parasite or vampire. But I chose to bury that deep enough so that it can't easily be seen and taken advantage of. I portray apathy and coldness. And I am happy to a certain extent. So now my attitude is on par with

But... I don't turn away from people who are genuinely hurting. I'll go out of my way to start up a brief conversation with a stranger so that they might be able to see a warm smile, feel a kind gesture, hear their own laughter or even something as simple as a nice compliment.. We can't just always turn a cold shoulder to others. But unfortunately we do have to be on guard more often than not.

Re: The secret to my happiness? INSIDE
Live in USA, had health condition that ended with going to India for surgery. Was the only American there, because of culture shock and corruption was in a very bad place getting a room in hospital. Guy admitting to hospital said you must pay me money to rent this desk. At that point realized I made huge mistake. L

Luck have it ceo and his sister was American and sister was sent for cause my eyes said I was terrified. She came to room and talked and was a huge blessing. Later she said after talking she had to sit on bench outside of room cause her energy was taken by me. Emotional energy is no different than physics, was a great lesson.

Are you Christian? David hated God's enemies, those who rallied against God. Are those who try to kill you anti-Christ?

I agree

Help genuine people when I can

But mostly shut down

As the Bible says

The Love of The World will wax cold

The way of the world is that there are constantly bad things, people, and ideas trying to infect your life.

Your salvation, is that you get to decide if any of them will affect you or not.
Always remember these words: Work hard, study well, and eat and sleep plenty! That is the Turtle Hermit way! We must master the art of peace in addition to the art of war!
