It is horrible. Unbearable. How will the elderly and the poor even survive? Yesterday I went to get glasses, and.....

I wanted new glasses. Its been maybe four years and I can see ok, but my left eye needs a stronger lens now. Last time I got glasses it was about 300 dollars, significantly covered by a vision plan. I use a good optometrist.

I get cheaper frames, not designer, and the lenses are shatterproof and scratch resistant. They are progressive lenses, which is essentially bifocals but one graduated lens, not two sections.

So when I was done ordering and picking new frames, they took my credit card and it was $245. The vision plan is different now, so I shrugged it off.

Then the worker told me that without the insurance it would be over 800 bucks. I was shocked, and said last time it was 300. An older guy in the office said that it had crept up to 400 dollars a year ago, but in the past year it has doubled to over 800.

My shocked response was "what about old people without insurance?" His reply was that they will try and figure out what food and medicine they can live without to get glasses. People try to take less insulin, or half of a medicine dose. They want to be able to see with glasses.

This is America. Meanwhile we send billions and billions to corrupt Ukraine and the rest of the world.

If you can help somebody, that would be great. And pray for mercy and for God to somehow provide for the poor. It is going to get worse. Thank you for reading.
