Quoting: Xeven This, I can make 8 burritos at home with 1 lb. of hamburger, 1 can of refried beans, 1 package of mix (or use your own spices, do that too) 1 onion, 1 small pkg. of shredded cheese, 1 can of enchilada sauce, 1 pkg. of tortillos for: $12.00 approx. Doesn't take that long. *If you add rice, you can stretch the meat and cheese and make like 12, so $1 each. P.S. And those are big burritos! I can do 10 w/same without the rice, but they are a little thin. Last Edited by InTheGLPHood on 11/22/2022 09:23 AM |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23018349 Right now kroger has great deals on shredded/ 8 ounce blocks of cheese. They have a 2 pound pack of premarinated chicken thighs for 6.99. An 8 count burrito sized pack of flour tortillas is about $2.50. That right there is approx. $10. Shred one 8 ounce block of mozzarella and one 8 ounce block of medium cheddar. That's another $3.50. 3 chicken quesadillas at taco bell is about $15. You can make them fatter, juicier, and tastier at home. I made some for us last night. Made an arbol salad, and a pico/guac combo. I chop cilantro, red onion, jalapeño, habanero, and tomato, then diced avocado and mix that in. I keep it chunky. Juice some lime over top, dash in some garlic salt Anda pinch of sugar. It's fire and much better. I do like the $2 grilled chicken Chipotle burrito at taco taco though. And those nacho fries. Yummy! Ummmm, this sounds good! |

Quoting: Fema Camp Hobo I don't even entertain eating fast food anymore. A few weeks ago I went to Culver's and bought 5 double cheeseburger meals with shakes and it was $59. That is about $12 x 5 meals and I don't think any of us finished it all in the first sitting. That was a fair amount of food that is much, much better than Mcd, Bk or TB and it was less than $20. I think they are priced differently in different locations just like pretty much every other store. I wonder how much those Culver's meals would have cost in Manhattan? |

The one I used to go to got shut down by the Department of Health due to someone shitting in the refried beans. It made the news too. Disgusting. I mostly prepare my own meals now for many reasons, but the biggest is cooking for ourselves is actually healthier and gratifying. And less chance of poop in my bean dip. |
