Demographics completely different now. Another 30-40 years and this country will be completely destroyed if it continues unabated. It was a moment in time that was happy and more innocent. That is never coming back until after something drastic happens such as comet, asteroid, emp, nuke war, etc. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 83053942 United States 11/19/2022 05:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I grew up in the 1960's. You wont ever get another decade like that. I was too young to get involved in protesting the war, etc, but i did enjoy a lot. Woodstock 1969 happened, and they have never been able to re-create it. They tried, but there were shootings and such, and so Woodstock was THE festival which went well, had wonderful musicians that sang their heart out, with no auto-tune. there were no gangs, fightings, beating each other up, just a peaceful time which impressed those over 30 years old. just freedom. the 1960's was a time of change between conservative parents, and those kids who brought about social change, they were liberal but not the hater kind of liberal we find today with the woke crowd. the kids were the good kind of liberal fighting for civil rights, social change, integration. Alas, a lot of the things people fought for are now being changed back. some people want segregation in colleges, so they can have a safe space. like the ones we read in the news where they want a black only place to view the new Wakanda movie, that sucks. people in the 1960s fought to integrate everyone and realize that people are equal. not like today. also fashion changed, to the mini skirt, you had to be skinny, we didn't sit around all day on iphones and videos and tv, we went out and had fun at the beach, roller skating, and just going out. |

User ID: 79159550 United States 11/19/2022 05:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The difference between now and the 80's is really like a completely different world. Gen-X was the last generation that got to experience a truly disconnected society. The Internet ruined everything. Society was on its way out by the start of the 90s. The internet was the death blow. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72884301 United States 11/19/2022 05:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The 80s was the decade of recessions, AIDS, Ronald Reagan, and terrible poofter music. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78997133 And Journey SUCKS. Reagan was actually the one bit of sanity in an increasingly "lefty" America, although sometimes even his instincts were overly influenced by the "leftys" of society. His biggest fuck-up - Iran-Contra - was because he later admitted that his (to paraphrase) do-gooder biases got the better of him. Now in 2022, the US has witnessed even more decades of "lefty" do-gooderism. It's therefore meaner, greedier, more decadent, more unethical and dark-hearted than ever before. Thanks, Liberals! . Wrong, his biggest f'up was signing '86 Amnesty bill. That ruined CA and the US forever. |
