The President nominates a new Vice President who is to serve out the balance of the term and they are confirmed by the Senate (which IS run by the DEMOCRATS!)

The Speaker of the House NEVER becomes the Vice President!! PERIOD!!

They may be "Next In Line" to be President if the VP office is vacant, but only until the NEW Vice President is confirmed by the Senate.

Happened back in 1973-1974 when first Spiro Agnew was forced to resign as Vice President (got caught in a bribery scandal from his days of Govenor) and Gerald Ford was nominated to be the NEW Vice President by Richard Nixon.

Ford was confirmed as the NEW Vice President and then when Nixon was forced to resign he was elevated to President and nominated Nelson Rockefeller to be the NEW Vice President, and he was confirmed as such by the Senate and was the Vice President for the rest of Ford's term of office.

When Nixon resigned, VP Gerald Ford became President, and then later nominated Nelson Rockefeller to be VP. He was then approved by both houses, which were Democrat.

The Speaker remains the Speaker, unless Kamala nominates her to be VP (which she might). Good luck with that, though.

No, that is not how it works. The President would appoint the next VP to be approved by congress. See "Nixon appoints Ford as VP, after Agnew resignation."

It will have to be after Jan 6th actually, Biden has to stay in for at least 2 years so that it doesn't count as a term for the person that replaces him, so that the dems could actually get the same president for 10 years. Someone just as controllable but that performs better in public.
