If you really think about it, Libertarianism is a corporate wet dream and doesn't really work in the real world. Much like socialism ... aspects of it can be made to look good on paper but will only lead to more corruption and power to the powerful than before.

I stopped trusting Rand when he starting kissing IS ra el ass which was basically from the beginning.

At least Ron said we needed to stop sending them money ... Rand said it and then quickly backtracked and has never looked back.

If we want to be completely fair and give some benefit of the doubt, maybe Ron Paul was so powerless and non threatening to the establishment that he was allowed to be who he was to split the Republican Party.

Ron Paul had a great voting record as far as I remember (Dr. No). He may have been controlled opposition, nothing would surprise me. But, he was the only candidate in my lifetime I actually truly was motivated about. Both times.

What he talked about was things that only people on forums like this talked about at that time. So, he at least put out libertarian-leaning ideas on the mainstream that never really were there before.

If it was a corporate wet dream they'd be lining up to support libertarian Republicans.

In his inaugural address, Trump unrepentently denounce the Washington elite and promised to return political power back to the American people.

Rand is not even close to the same as his dad was though. His politics is quite a bit more republican than is dad. Ron Paul had ideas that were closer to the founders. Rand is far more 'modern'.
