Why I gave up christmas

It’s a pagan celebration.

It’s not in scripture except for the warnings not to participate in pagan practices.

Our saviour didn’t celebrate it, He was here till He was 33 years old. He was born around September (fall) when His parents went from Bethlehem to Egypt.

(This will be my 3rd year of not participating. I’m Natsarim, we follow scripture, not any organized religion. We keep the Sabbath and the Feasts of YHWH, which we are instructed to do in scripture. I’m still learning all of this 😊

Christmas.....the time parents lie to their children about a fat man in a red suit that delivers gifts across the whole world with flying reindeer.

Then they set up an idol in their home and decorate it and give gifts to one another around it. Which is expressly spoken of against in scripture, breaking the first of the ten commandments. The very same ten commandments that are used to identify Gods Saints from the rest of the world.

Jesus says, “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44).

1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

The following doesn't just apply to long dead people. Nor is it restricted to the practices of those days.

Then.....scripture tells us, many will be offended in the last days. Why? They don't want to hear the truth, but would rather continue practicing lies.

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.

What is Christmas and all of it's pagan rites and lies, but a deceptive narrative that is supposedly supposed to honor Christ, but in no manner does? How can it, with the idol worship and the lies and the vanity? Those are attributes of Satan, not Christ.

What did Christ tell the adulterous woman? Go and sin no more. He would tell an idol worshiping pagan the same. In fact he does.

Those who are offended by what I just said, would rather be children of Satan rather than brothers with Christ. They want you to participate with them. When you don't, or won't, you are castigated for it, just as Jesus was, which is what he says will happen.

Hold the line.....it will all be over soon and God knows His people. They are the ones that reject the world and come in and sup with him instead, just as those of his choosing did on the night he was betrayed and hung on the cross.

Christ told them, and all who would come after him and them, to make an annual observance of the commemoration of his death.

Choose this day whom you will follow. It does matter.

Here is the patience of the Saints; Here are they that keep the Commandments of God and the Faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12

Hi Kate, you know we all have our own spiritual/religious beliefs. Nobody thinks exactly the same way about everything. Just imagine if we all posted in such a way, it comes off as you feeling superior in some way, my way or the highway, even if you don't mean it like that.

GLP has been good to you over the years. A lot of kindness, patience and compassion has been shown towards you. I know I always cared about you during the tough times. Can't you just accept everyone for who they are instead of using this as a platform to tell everyone they've got it wrong?

We celebrate the Grace of God through The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We believe that one day is no holier than another, just as The Apostle Paul wrote.

We believe the Sabbath IS Jesus Christ, not a day of the week.

We believe the Feasts are fulfilled in Christ the Messiah.

We don't believe that we have to follow laws given to non-gentiles, for we are gentiles.
