I raised several baby squirrels and raccoons.
A vet friend of mine, who did a fair amount of wildlife rehabilitation, surgery, etc, told me to always feed them kitten replacement milk....

One squirrel, Merle, when she got older, in the morning I would feed her in my office, then let her go up a large oak tree right outside. In the afternoon I took a large stick and hit the lower part of the tree and called her, she would come down and either crawl onto my hand, which was on the tree, or just jump onto my shoulder. I usually had some peanuts in the shell in my shirt pocket, and I would sit at my desk, finish up the days paperwork and she would climb down into my shirt pocket, get a peanut, then sit on my shoulder and eat. Made a mess, but I had her for several years. Had a large birdcage with a high top tennis shoe inside and there is where she slept at night.

If that squirrel is smart he will stay in his cage after going outside like glp'ers
