My pizza place is by the movie theater, and so the parking there is usually non-existent, there were multiple places to park, so I'm sure those sales are down also. I wouldn't want to be invested in any retail, restaurant or movie stocks right now, anything to do with consumers, who are apparently broke. |

It was almost desolate, entire rows with only one and two cars, even by the restaurants like Red Lobster, so weird. Quoting: Keilani Called in an order at the pizza place, you usually have to call multiple times on a weekend as so busy and it's a mom and pop place. They answered immediately, did NOT put me on hold like usual, order was done in 15 minutes, usually I'd have to wait about 45 on a Fri/Sat night. I remember reading how a lot of the stores cancelled their Christmas stock, no wonder, they see the writing on the walls. Stores and restraunts here in East Texas are still packed all of the time. No one has slowed down around here. (OP) User ID: 83107670 United States 10/29/2022 08:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the empty store next to the Grocery Outlet has always had a Spirit Halloween store every year I can Remember, this year, nothing, left empty Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81013867 like they know no one is spending money so they didn't open this year Oh, yeah, that's another thing, couldn't find much at all for costume. The Party City closed down, and we also had outlets pop up in the past for Halloween, nothing now. I even went to Walmart last weekend, the large super one, and there's just wasn't much in props, etc. I'm sure they want you to buy everything online, but just seems also that people don't have money. I'm guessing Christmas is going to be a disaster for these stores. Our rents have skyrocketed in Florida, but wages have not. |

Places like Walmart seem to have way more stocking issues when it comes to meat and other food items, maybe because all the food stamp people shop there, IDK. Places like Sam's Club seem to wait for the weekend to put out certain meat and other items, for example, I'm noticing their Prime Hamburger seems to run out a lot during week, but they manage to stock for weekend. |

What are we supposed to do as the richest nation in the world? Let families starve? Calm down already, I have no problem with food stamps if you legitimately need them, get tired of seeing entire families on them pumping out more and more kids though, and that's what I see at Walmart. It's a known fact that Walmart is almost supported by the EBT industry. Oh, and I rarely buy meat at Walmart, most of it not that high quality, but there are some things I might run in there for as it's convenient. |
