Anonymous Coward User ID: 80332070 United States 10/30/2022 07:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What's the SPL @1W1M ?. If not 104 or higher, faget it. They make these 24 inch woofers I'm gonna build around. 104dB. Run them on Carver 1200 watt amps. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80479738 Do you have a style in mind? you should go horn after you get through the 24's range. horns are clearer because they( the diaphram) don't have to move as much for the same volumn...which equals CLARITY. ie, the vocals aren't as smudged. Maybe the jubilees are for you. You will have some difficulty matching High freq drivers with the same sensitivity as your woofers. or maybe you will use different amps for each range of freqs. the jubilee has a sensitivity of about 106/DB/WT and will handle about 1200 watt amp.. with top SPL of about 125DB, which would be great for removing the paint from the ceiling. I built speakers back in the 90's, using 300 watt x-overs at 500 and 5000, 12 and 15 inch pyle pros at 100dB, pyle horns 100dB and pioneer kids at 96dB. Had 10 on 5600 watts in a rack with mostly Carver. Perfectly clean sound at a Rick Derringer concert level. Will vibrate your body and blurry your vision. About 149dB. |
