Heart attacks happen all the time. If you break a hip when you are older, the life span diminishes to less than a year usually.

My mother@age 76 was hit by a car while crossing the street to get to her bus stop. She was a Reverend and natural healer. She refused medical treatment for her fractured pelvis. It took about 3mos for her to die from internal bleeding. I took care of her during that. Nasty business it was.

A “hip break” is the femoral neck, just under the head (ball joint which goes into the acetabulum or socket, it could possibly slice an artery. A broken pelvis is MUCH different, a MUCH harder area to break and is most certainly life threatening.
