He would accuse Paul and even Jesus of the same thing for talking about how our "common enemy" works evils against us. It's actually alot more simple than we realize though and it took me forever to truly get. We are already saved. So all the attacks are simply to steal our God given right to live in joy and peace. The enemy just wants us to be In chaos and unrest during our time on earth. All about stealing that joy. Everything is set up for us to be unhappy but it is our RIGHT to be happy. You DESERVE to be free in spirit. Being far away from God is his goal. Because we hurt ourselves most when we are far from God while the enemy gets to us.

what the devil does, i'll tell you

once they find a weak spot in your armor, they won't attack you right away

they will work on getting you weaker and weaker until they are able to totally destroy you.

they will try to not to alert you to the danger you are in.

We're saved through grace by faith not through works. We're gonna fall but we can get back up. Yes we should keep our armour but we hurt ourselves most when we fall away from God. I don't agree it's a church teaching.
