like when people expect inflation (businesses generally preempt this stuff - the cognitive ability of the general consumer is relatively limited) and they all go buy lots more toilet paper than they usually would which causes a shortage of toilet paper and thus inflation...
maybe there are behavioral patterns that create patterns (boom and bust) in the economy and even recognizable patterns in the price action of equities and commodities etc...
