metaverse is a joke in terms of a virtual world.

It's so stupid. I bought a quest 2 last year and a few of the games are incredible. The technology has so much potential, but corporations are too pussified to get it to work.

I went outside in my yard and worked in the garden. Then caught some late sun when I walked in the park. Other people were there too, some brought pets. There was some birds up in the trees. The air was nice. This simulation has a few million active users.

SL has been doing it nearly 20 years, with their own currency, so technically I've been doing crypto for 16 years now. lol

Plus, you can make a free account. I would use a different platform though. I use firestorm instead of the secondlife platform.

I don't play in there as much these days, but October is cool so I am typically in once a day for certain things. lol

True, but like now, you are on a computer. I gave up tv in 2001, I'm not into combat games, so secondlife over the years has been a fun distraction.

Many creators make a RL living in there also. Quite a few have even become millionaires.

Confirmed, your life SUCKS.

I'm a bit over 60 and I spent some years in 3-d world creation and games.

Metaverse does not impress me at all.
It's just a huge collection of scripts with graphics.
Anyone buying into it with large amounts of money are in my opinion, mentally unstable.


One 3-d world that I didn't work on but hung out of so old that I can't recall the name.
You got a plot of land and could build any type of building you wanted.
People could visit and you could visit their places.
In my virtual living room my television showed true live real news stations or any TV I wanted to code it too.

Keep in mind this was over 30+years ago.

The only thing Meta is good for is fleecing sheep.

People forget that the word Virtual means not in reality/fake/false/ doesn't exist, so should you really be throwing money away for something that is not real?

Not worthy of a response, but sure, I'll take the bait.
Like the person I responded to, I also did many hours of garden work this past week harvesting the final summer garden, ripping out the spent tomatoes, zucchini, beans, onions, butternut squash, etc etc. Only leaving the peppers, carrots and zinnias until the fall garden gets planted. I did not go to a park though, as I am not really a fan of random people "gathering" spots unless it's a metal or jazz concert. I did however swim in my pool, while it's still warm water, but even San Diego is starting to feel the fall weather so that wont be a daily thing soon.

As I said, I rarely am in SL anymore, maybe an hour a week typically, but since it is October there are quite a few things I like to do daily in there, but again it is less than an hour to do them each day. No where near the time spent by others on video games. I am also renovating two of my rentals to maximize their rental income potential. Although to be fair, I have hired out the manual labor on those. lol.. So really, life is going pretty good considering the clown world around me.

I don't wonder about how your life is, you do you.

The topic was how poorly metaverse is doing, by compairing it to another virtual world that is also horrible.

Yep, seen it. I am not into it, they spend a crap ton of lindens though. 2006 to 2010 I sold items targetted to their weirdoness. Closed my stores in 2011 though. Opensim is ok, but I don't have any of my things over there, so I don't find it as fun.

The only millionaires are the ones that make the nude skins. I tried Second life back in the mid-2000's. I just walked around naked the entire time just to offend people. But everyone else that played was a pervert so nobody got offended and I just had fudge packers hitting on me the entire time.

You can't port them over with s tool, I forget with browser, I think meerkat use to have that integration.

It has been a while since I have been to either sl or os.

It wasn't long after the support for mega regions came out on opensim that I stopped.

its funny a site like GLP which is the most basic of programming apps, that is really equivalent to dos programs created in the 1980's has tens of thousands of times more users.

All skins are nude.. and doubtful any skin makers made it to millionaire status or anywhere near it.. Those that make certain scripted body parts and those that sell land are the millionaires.

Haven't heard of that, I've always heard it was against tos to bring in other creators items. I am not in enough either to bother with it lol. Thanks for the info though.
