It is why in scripture, when they sought to entomb Jesus after the Crucifixion, that it was important that it be done prior to sunset. (It is also important to note that Jesus died on the cross, just prior to an annual sabbath, that annual Sabbath, fell during the mid point of the week, it was not the weekly 7th day Sabbath. That Sabbath was Passover, but wait, scripture shows that Jesus instituted The Lords Supper in it's place. Why? Because, Jesus became the Passover. He is the lamb that was slain in it's place, once and for all, doing away with animal sacrifice. Jesus instituted this change himself (As was necessary to make that change come about, as demonstrated in the following scripture).

I felt it prudent for me to expound on that for the understanding of those who may lack it, now, back to the Sabbath beginning at sundown, We again see another example of when scripture says the Sabbath begins; as the day began to close in the scripture below. What does it say?

Aside from those former Sabbaths, which Christ fulfilled at His coming, for the weekly 7th day Sabbath, Friday has always been the preparation day for it, not based upon name, but on which day of the week it fell on, which has never changed. At sundown, the Sabbath begins. All preparation and work is to cease or be finished before that point.
