Gratitude

What does having gratitude mean to you?

Me or others can explain gratitude. Our opinion of gratitude. The fact oh you have shelter or food or water, be grateful.

Let’s ignore all the sadness and sorrow and just force ourselves to be grateful.

That’s what some say about gratitude:

Ignore the chaos, and just be glad you have a small blessing


I’m telling you:

Your life is a giant blessing!

You have breathe

You have God within you

This is not some myth or fictional story.

This is life.

And truth.

Trust Jesus.

He will see you through every obstacle.

I challenge you to think about gratitude. And what it means to you.

Think about,

what is gratitude,

what does having gratitude mean,

what does gratitude help with,

how does gratitude help us see God in our lives,

how does gratitude help with self esteem,

What stirs up life and hope within us,

What brings us joy and happiness,

Have We ever cried tears of gratitude . (Why did we tear up? What was that
experience like),

What memories make us smile.

And yes we have many memories that make us cry in a sad way, not a positive way.

And let’s say , you say, never once did I have a good memory

Make this your first then.

To know you are loved

To know you are held

To be able to let go of the idea of life and walk in life with Jesus.

To be able to smile knowing you are not forgotten. No matter how much the world tells you you are.

To know you have the savior of mankind guiding you.

Knowing you are made for peace joy and love.

Don’t give into despair.

God is with you. Learn from him!

Think about Mary the mother of Jesus or Mary or Martha or Mary Magdalene. Walking that day with Simon to Calvary. Think about the sorrow.

Tell them be grateful after Jesus was crucified. What would their reaction be. Yes. They heard Jesus say he is the way truth and life, and he is the bread of life. But did they truly comprehend it at this point? Tell them be grateful. They might have yelled at you.

But wait. Jesus came to Mary when he rose from the dead

In this way their gratitude was fulfilled:

A way out of the grave. Eternal salvation.

So yes we should be grateful for this and that and all that but truly in my opinion we should be grateful Jesus humbled himself on the cross and rose from the grave. In this we have life.

So we focus on life. Speaking life. Learning about the Kingdom of God we have in our temple, given to us by the Holy Spirit.

We learn about discernment.

Just …don’t let the world take away all your hope.

Maybe it takes some Hope away, the world

But don’t let it take all hope

Thomas was doubting that Jesus talked to the other disciples after rising from the dead

He said unless I see his hands and feet, I won’t believe

And Thomas is doubting. And his Hope was not fixed on the cross.

But Jesus went to Thomas. And showed him his hands and feet

And what does Thomas say, because he experiences Hope and is stirred in spirit, my Lord and my God.

Jesus is very real.

Trust him.

Trust you are made for love.

And you are so loved.
