People that don't vote VS Atheists

I was just thinking to myself in my room tonight when I thunk of this and began discussing it with my family. What would you say if I were to offer the argument that Atheism is to religion in responsive comparison to abstentionism and the democratic i.e. political process? The minority of the former I feel is granted self-righteous entitlement to their opinion on respective matter but I cannot say the same goes for the latter.
