Is it wrong to kill an animal? Is it wrong to eat an animal? What does your heart tell you?

If you believe it is okay to kill and eat animals, on the Day of Judgment, how will you answer Jesus when he asks you, "How can you expect me to grant you eternal life when you were a destroyer of life?"

"Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like a little child, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven." Matthew 18:3

A little child would never even consider the thought of killing and eating an animal because it goes against their God-given nature. Even as a hardened adult who has spent his or her entire life eating animals, what would your first reaction be if you were to see a rabbit while going on a hike? Would you instantly want to kill it and eat it?

"Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. " Revelation 1:3

God warns us in the Book of Revelation not to eat animals.

"Nevertheless, I have a few things against you. There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality." Revelation 2:14

"Nevertheless, I have this against you. You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. Revelation 2:20

Food sacrificed to idols is obviously animals, for plants cannot be sacrificed. I know some will think God said "Do not eat animals sacrificed to idols," but that is not logical. How many people sacrifice animals to idols and eat them? Hardly anyone other than the occasional devil-worshipper. If you were shown a picture of a tree, a watermelon, a lamb, and a flower and asked to circle the one that best fits "a food sacrificed to idols," which picture would you circle?

"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." Revelation 21:8

"Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood." Revelation 22:15

Revelation 2:14, "ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality."

Observe, the order of the warnings have been reversed.

"ate food sacrificed to idols" = "ate animals" = "murderer"

Revelation 2:20, "sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols."
Revelation 22:15, "the sexually immoral, the murderers."
"eating food sacrificed to idols" = "eating animals" = "murderer"

"The disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Why do you speak to the people in parables?' He replied, 'Because the knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven has been given to you, but not to them." Matthew 13:10-11

Jesus also warns about sexual immorality. Sexual immorality is lust. Lust is having sex for pleasure. Therefore, having sex for any other reason than to lovingly procreate is lustful and it is a sin. This includes fantasizing.

"I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matthew 5:28

Observe, Jesus does not say, "…anyone who looks at a woman lustfully, except for his wife…" To believe it is okay to lust after someone just because you are married to them is foolish.

"At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in Heaven." Matthew 22:30

If you want to become like an angel in Heaven, then behave like an angel on earth and do not eat animals and do not lust.

Do you believe these are the words of a false prophet? "By their fruits you will know them." Matthew 7:15

On the Day of Judgment, will you hear Jesus will say to you, "Come to Heaven, please. It is open to you." Or will you hear, "I tried to warn you, but you could not hear me because you loved your sin too much."

"Nothing impure will ever enter the Kingdom of Heaven, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life." Revelation 21:27
