An M-8.7 yesterday too and an M-6 just before that-

There is a geomagnetic storm in progress, first red line just hit the Kp-index as I type this K-6 or 7 it looks like.

Funny, I was working outside until like 20 min. ago w/ no knowledge of the flare- my ears really started ringing and I could feel the sun increase in intensity, so I came in too look- sho' 'nuff... thing just started- batten down the hatches!

you only feel them for a brief period.. they arrive in a very short time if earth directed.

It was an X28+ that was not facing earth directly, only the outer band grazed the earth

A new Massive sunspot is just rotating into view, the largest of this cycle, 30% X flare,


It's Huge and will be directly facing earth in a few days.

I started to feel really sad right around that time.
No reason for the sadness. I wasn't thinking about anything or ruminating etc.
