However, that is not theology. I do not agree that the text itself can "self-validate" for this purpose. Nor do I believe that this is the correct way to approach it.

By 'self-validate' do you mean ''comfirn'?

If so, I use the word 'witness'.

Scripture can either confirm OR it can refute doctrines derived from single verse.

Below is one example. Many theologians claim Jesus raised His own body at the Resurrection based on this pre-crucifixion verse.

John 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Yet when you look through scripture, there are NO verses that actually confirm that He 'raised Himself' from the dead.

Then, there are 18 verses that clearly show that it was Father God who raised Jesus from the dead.

See here.

The words "God" AND "raised" occurs 39 times in 18 verses in between Act and Rev in the KJV.

Yes! Thank you. I worded that so poorly but you understood what I was trying to ask.

These are the things I've been hoping to investigate more closely, especially such ideas which commonly are misunderstood from lack of cross-validation. This is how I understand exegesis.

Using the text to understand the text. If you have any more such examples I'd love to learn about them! Thank you.

I'm not going to check back soon, I have to sleep now and then I will likely be busy in the day....I'd love it if you shared some wisdom at your convenience. I plan on looking into the details on my own so no need to do an extra work, just some pointers is helpful!

And even if you're too busy, this one was a nice one to get started hf thanks

Modern pastors and theologians teach doctrines and the verses that support them - while many times ignoring scripture that rufutes those doctrines.

Another example is many of them claim that you have to believe that 'Jesus is God' in order to have Salvation - yet NO verse exists that says such.

Here's a post I did with 13 other verses that show us what they NT writers do say to Believe...

I believe that you can't take a few verses and put together sound doctrine while ignoring verses that show things far differently.

Here's a modern teaching that should show you what I'm talking about.

To know the Truth, go beyond faith and memorizing scriptures to actually experience even just a tiny bit of the caring and compassionate God's immense pure unconditional love.

Love is the Truth and it transcends human religions, beliefs, and rituals.

Otherwise, all discussions will simply be mirroring each of our own personal biases.

God wants to be found by us, and would not make it hard for us to do so.

It is humans who made it difficult and convoluted.

My arrogance is not paramount. It is something that has often been mu stumbling block. You are not correct to make it important.

Continually though, you contradict yourself, don't you? You didn't really mean my arrogance is so important. You meant it is "too high".

You use words you do not understand. I don't blame you since I have done the same and in some ways might still do.

You continue to take on an adversarial role with me. So be it. However, regarding the wrath I have a few questions for you.

First, do you promise?
Second, is it on schedule? If yes...
Third, when is it?

I'd like to see what you are capable of, since I still do not believe your words. They are too much based in contractions and seeming ignorance.

If you have wrath, send it. If not, go in peace.

So you are saying you would target someone's parents if you are unable to affect them directly?
 Quoting: Something Worth Learning

So you're saying that you loved your parents more than Lord Jesus?.

The disciple is not above the teacher, nor is the servant above his master.

It is sufficient for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant, like his master. If they have called the Father of the family, ‘Beelzebub,[Antichrist]’ how much more those of his household?

Therefore, do not fear them. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed, nor hidden that shall not be known.

What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light. And what you hear whispered in the ear, preach above the rooftops.

And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But instead fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

Are not two sparrows sold for one small coin? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father.

For even the hairs of your head have all been numbered.

Therefore, do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.

Therefore, everyone [who are son of man] who acknowledges me before [sons of] men, I also will acknowledge before my Father, who is in heaven.

But whoever [son of man] will have denied me before [sons of] men, I also will deny before my Father, who is in heaven.

Do not think that I came to send peace upon the earth. I came, not to send peace, but the sword [as the last great Anti-Christ].

For I came to divide a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

And the enemies of a man will be those of his own household.

Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever loves son or daughter above me is not worthy of me.

And whoever does not take up his cross and follow me [as the great Anti-Christ] is not worthy of me [Elijah the prophet].

Whoever finds his life, will lose it. And whoever will have lost his life for my sake, shall find it.

Whoever receives you, receives me. And whoever receives me, receives him who sent me.

Whoever receives a prophet, in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet. And whoever receives the just in the name of the just shall receive the reward of the just.

And whoever shall give, even to one of the least of these, a cup of cold water [wisdom of knowledge] to drink, solely in the name of a disciple: Amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.” - Lord Jesus in Matthew 10:24-42

And I can upgrade my wrath if you like falling deeper into Sheol?..

The days are coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble: and the day will inflame them, says [Sabaoth] the Lord of hosts, that does not leave root and branch.

But for you who fear [respect] my name [Lord Jesus], the sun of justice with healing in his wings and go forth and leap like fatted calves.

They will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this, I will.

Remember the law of my servant Moses [is Enoch the Lord, God of hosts and Holy One of Israel, blessed be He!] that I gave him at Horeb for all Israel, the precepts, and judgments.

See, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day.

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with anathema. - Malachi 4:1-6 Vulgate Bible

For you do not know your own Spirit name neither.

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

And those beside the way are those who hear it, but then the devil [ZWO fugitives of Israel] comes and takes the word [truth of God] from their heart [spirit], lest by believing it they may be saved.

Now those upon rock are those who, when they hear it, accept the word with joy, but these have no roots [mankind a.k.a soulless beasts of the earth]. So they believe for a time, but in a time of testing, they fall away.

And those [sons & daughters of men workers of iniquity] which fell among thorns [Royal, Elite & ZWO Globalist with Vatican freemasonic lodges as evil trees bearing corrupted fruits] are those who have heard it, but as they go along, they are suffocated by the concerns and riches and pleasures of this life, and so they do not yield fruit.

But those which were on good soil [soul with light in them] are those who, upon hearing the word with a good and noble heart, retain it, and they bring forth fruit in patience.

Now no one, lighting a candle, covers it with a container, or sets it under a bed. Instead, he places it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.

For there is nothing secret, which will not be made clear, nor is there anything hidden, which will not be known and be brought into plain sight.

Therefore, take care how you listen. For whoever has [light in them], it [soul] will be given to him; and whoever does not have [light in them], even what he thinks he has [his soul] will be taken away from him.” - Lord Jesus in Luke 8:11-18

[smiles sweetly]

On the same day, some of the Pharisees approached, saying to him: “Depart, and go away from here. For Herod wishes to kill you.”

And he said to them: “Go and tell that fox [G H.W 'King Akhenaten, Nebuchadnezzar, Herod, Uzziah is now Kimberly Ann Goguen a.k.a Azazel the Angel of Perdition' Bush]: ‘Behold, I cast out demons and accomplish healings, today [0 - 1000 AD] and tomorrow [1001 - 2000 AD]. And on the third day [24th October 2029] I reach the end.’

Yet truly, it is necessary for me to walk today and tomorrow and the following day. For it does not fall to a prophet to perish beyond Jerusalem.

Jerusalem, Jerusalem! You kill the prophets, and you stone those who are sent to you. Daily, I wanted to gather together your children, in the manner of a bird with her nest under her wings, but you were not willing!

Behold, your house will be left desolate for you. But I say to you, that you shall not see me, until it happens that you say: ‘Blessed is he [Elijah the prophet] who has arrived in the name of [Enoch] the Lord.’” - Lord Jesus in Luke 13:31-35

Re: Christian Theology
The foundational method is exegesis. This is using the text to interpret the text. It requires understanding the context to get the meaning.

The secondary method is eisegesis. It brings the readers own context to the text. It has the risk of making the reader blind to what is written there. For example, even a single word or negation can alter the interpretation of the later words, if misread. This can also make it confusing to understand.
 Quoting: Something Worth Learning

I think you've outlined 2 (3 with the narcigesis) methods of hermeneutics. However, most protestantism is based on systematic theology.

Systematic theologians interpret the text through the lens of the matrix of doctrines they've derived over time. The first and foremost doctrine is the Trinity.

They apply hermeneutics as long as the results agree with their pre-conceived notions of what the text relates via systematic theology.

I'm not a systematic theologian, more or what some might call middle knowledge.

"Hypocrites! How well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:

‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

For in vain do they worship me, teaching the doctrines and commandments of men.’”

And having called the multitudes to him, he said to them: “Listen and understand.

A man is not defiled by what enters into the mouth, but by what proceeds from the mouth. This is what defiles a man.”

Then his disciples drew near and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees, upon hearing this word, were offended?”

But in response he said: “Every plant which has not been planted by my heavenly Father shall be uprooted.

Leave them alone. They are blind, and they lead the blind. But if the blind are in charge of the blind, both will fall into the pit.”

And responding, Peter [Cephas a.k.a Pope 'Acher & Paul' Francis] said to him, “Explain this parable to us.”

But he said: “Are you, even now, without understanding?

Do you not understand that everything that enters into the mouth goes into the gut, and is cast into the sewer?

But what proceeds from the mouth, goes forth from the heart, and those are the things that defile a man.

For from the heart go out evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.

These are the things that defile a man. But to eat without washing hands does not defile a man.”

Genesis thirty - eighteen = 251

Revelation seven - seven - seven = 251

Two Hundred Fifty One = 232

1 Chronicles 12:32 = 44 = 8

And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

Re: Christian Theology
To get things good with God... like anybody else, you would want to impress on Him that you want to know Him better. That you want to hang out with Him. Please read on.

God Loves Everybody.... and wants everybody to live in peace.

What you say, not say to God,... what you think about God - will determine where you go in the next life. Careful with your words friend. Your words are even more important than what you do.... This is because God knows that sometimes we get addicted to stuff / bad habits or habits / vices.

God wants to help people to be loving. People say that 'all paths lead to God'... This is simply not true. If it were, then heaven would be just like earth, but with God sitting in the middle of it. Ain't gonna happen. Not.

How to find out Who this God is.. for sure... Let's see. You can try to use intellect and reason to figure Him out. Sometimes that works.

It's Ok if you don't know for sure. God understands.

The easier and more sure way to know - is just to ask Him directly.

Remember, this is God that you are dealing with. If God wants to respond... it should be easy for Him.. Him being God and all. If God does not respond, then you have your other answer.

For atheists say this out loud: God, the Most High God... I'm not sure Who You are, or even if You exist. But if You do, and if You Love me, then I want to know. Please show me... so that I never doubt Your existence again.

Also, to help with your relationship with God not be stagnant, ask these out loud as well:

- To the Most High God, if you Love me, then just in case I'm not Your child, make me into one.

- To the Most High God, if you Love me, then prepare my heart for whatever is coming, so that I'm ready.

- To the Most High God, if you Love me, then show Yourself to me. I know You from my head. Help me to know You from my heart as well...

- To the Most High God, if you Love me, and if the Christian Jesus is important to Your plans and to my life, please let me know.

Just keep in mind that what you say, or don't say to God - will determine if you go to heaven or hell. Yes it's that important.

Ask audibly. Ask humbly. What is that, you ask? Ask as if you were God, and one of your creation were asking you important questions.

Don't let your (bad) daddy-image get in the way of God the Father. Too many do this. Remember, God the Father is Perfect.

Good luck.

Thank you.

[link to www.godlikeproductions.com]

....

I believe that you can't take a few verses and put together sound doctrine while ignoring verses that show things far differently.

Here's a modern teaching that should show you what I'm talking about.

Thread: John 8:24 - 'Unless you believe I am the Son of God' - KJV Bible Stuey

Thread: John 8:58 John 8:24 - "I am" means "I EXIST" from the Greek - KJV Bible Study

Thread: Father God is the "I AM' / God Almighty / Jehovah in Exodus. Not Jesus. Bible Study Scriptural Proof.

Yes I believe the same as what you wrote, that verses should not be ignored. I'll look at your thread for more insights. It is worth it that I made this thread. I am glad someone also has a similar attitude for studying the scripture. I'm away from the world wide web for while - won't be active - though I'd like to talk about these points some more in the future. Don't mind if I bump your thread to keep it in my actives!

I understand full well, either Jesus is a liar or you are a liar.
Quoting: You are not born again 84298286

You don't understand squat.

Jesus didn't lie. At the time He said it, it is obvious that He THOUGHT He'd 'raise Himself'.

The 18 verses make it clear that it didn't happen.

Scripture doesn't lie.

Re: Christian Theology
To the other posts in the thread, I have to confess I dont have much time to spare for attentive care to each one. I looked at some of the later ones that showed up while I was away and, being a little blunt, they seem off topic and not related to what I was asking. Even the ones that seem well intentioned write in another direction from what I had in mind for the thread. I'd like to revisit the thread in the coming months to see what I might have to say. I would like to be able to offer something of value in reply. That's all for now. Thank you for visiting my thread and I pray you enjoy your Bible studies at least as much as I do. It's better if its more, and if its more, I pray I can meet you in that enthusiasm soon.

Stay well! Embrace the blessings of God. Take care.

Laughable, I do not know you and this thread is an excellent learning curves for other to read your arrogantness!

Don't worry for you will not be at the bottomless pit of Sheol with Poppy Mommy!.

Should've stopped posting instead!.

So you are saying you would target someone's parents if you are unable to affect them directly?
 Quoting: Something Worth Learning

So you're saying that you loved your parents more than Lord Jesus?.
Quoting: Elijah The Fiery Prophet 84302351

No. I am saying that arrogance is making an enemy of something you are unable to affect. You are not able to do anything to me. Everything in my life is for the Glory of Jesus Christ. Whether you speak ill of me or well of me makes no difference. You can only serve the same Glory of Jesus Christ no matter what you say or do. This is why it is not an issue to ignore you further. This message should serve to bring peace to hearts of the faithful. There is no wrath nor any power worth noticing from this user. Focus on the Son of God Jesus Christ and be diligent in your devotion. Whatever happens is and has always been in the control and for the glory of God.
