It is a poor agricultural community of 7,500 people. It got hit hard by Charley in 2004. Here are some news story about the flooding. [link to www.msn.com (secure)] [link to www.msn.com (secure)] |

I live on 17 between Punta gorda and Arcadia on the river. Water is highest I've ever seen it and expected to keep rising for another day or so. I'll tell you hurricane Ian rocked our reality. So so much devastation and it keeps on coming. Eating home canned food heated up by sterno cans tho. Did pretty decent there in the preps. Just since I'm way out in the country no power for weeks. Work still expects us to come in but not having gas is threatening that. Not much left to deliver mail to now anyway. Here's a bill for your mortgage of the house you no longer have kinda doesn't seem right. Glad to get folks their much needed medications tho. Trying to cope. Just so so overwhelmed. No generator. No gas. No bank no cash. Everything has to be bought in cash. No ATMs and my local bank was destroyed. Just glad I'm alive. My family is alive. That's all that matters. So sad for those who aren't. |

Arcadia needs help ASAP. I think I saw 65 rescues, but probably more. Heartbreaking to see the floating campers, trucks and cars. There are a lot of redneck jokes, but the town is also filled with hard working people. |

Quoting: 26Degrees Too many people there now....too much weight on the land...or the sand if you will. Wash outs and sink holes. Many years ago I lived in a fourth floor apartment in West Palm Beach. Pretty sure it was one of the highest spots in Florida. |

You sound just like the kind of folk that weatherman, Ryan Hall's 'Ya'll Squad' is actively seeking -right now- to be put in touch with for immediate, direct non-government aid during this tough recovery time. After the tragic floods in Kentucky, Ryan's Ya'll Squad bought thousands of dollars worth of food and necessities that they loaded on trucks and personally delivered to the flood victims. He's in Kentucky. I think that they also give out money to those who have lost the means to make an income, to help them bridge the interim gap before Federal funds come? I watched his storm broadcast of Ian, and 100% all the proceeds from sales on his site during the broadcast are going to support special circumstance needs -like yours. Ryan specifically stated on the broadcast that they already have a lot of funds to distribute especially to the those that FEMA and State aid groups may not reach quickly or at all. I'm just a RyanHallYa'll YouTube subscriber and haven't participated in his chat, don't do Twitter or Facebook, so I'm not the person to be a go between for you. Perhaps someone else who's on Twitter or Facebook can assist if you don't do social media? Anyway, I'm being totally sincere in saying that Ryan's Ya'll Squad WANTS to hear from you and help you with replacing lost preps and more. They may even help you with a generator if you ask? I highly encourage you to reach out to Ryan yourself, and simply tell him your storm story and ask if they can assist with your immediate/near future needs. Your King Desantis only wants FL companies to do things. As you already know most of these companies cant handle normal day to day stuff because of short staffing. I know for a fact Biden just screwed you over with FEMA. They are using a completely new contract bid system run through a third party designed especially to screw people and to favor minority's. You wont get any security either. He choose to not let in Pro's so all you get if you are lucky will be a low wage mall security ass clown that is probably on the payroll of the looters. In fact as soon as FL companies knew they didnt have to compete with Pro's they lowered their wages. I wish the best of luck to you FL. You will need it. You guys are getting screwed by your King and Biden! panamaJJJ |

Florida has storms with higher winds, but has there ever been a flood there like this, storm surge from the back half of the storm (after the eye was already ashore and had collapsed; that seems impossible except we just saw it) and rain afterward. |
