The same storm hits it's just one house is an accident waiting to happen. take a look at ANY nice house.... ZERO trees or shit piled against it... NO shrubs touching, well maintained lawn. Now take a look at the average redneck/poor house.... five cars in the yard, grass 3 feet tall and dry and trees leaning against the roofline... but they have a 60-90k$ jacked up F350 with oversized tires sitting in their driveway... it's all about priorities. which house do you think is going to survive wind or fire? wind and fire ALWAYS affects one house more than another... houses that don't have "defensible space" that is why code states you're not supposed to have a tree within 30 feet of your home, yet people plant trees that get 50 feet tall in 30 years 5ft from the base of their home, and then wonder why the tree falls on their house, their foundation is cracked and their house has dryrot from dirty gutters. Because they like privacy/nature... yes poor people really are stupid and inferior and it's time to admit it so we can all move forward. |

WHAT AN AMAZING COINCEDENCE! "Honey, I’m the original one-eyed chicklet in the kingdom of the blind." |

I agree to disagree Stone and granite is harder to fall but it will look at Rome. Wooden structures can be rebuilt easily and toned down as well. I don't see many old structures in Rome rebuilt. Major pain in the ass if they did. A wood house can be burned to the ground but the foundation is still there so Duh. |

Sanibel is a j#* resort so don't worry DeSatan will make sure they get all the proper care, aid and money FIRST as opposed to the other hit areas. |

Same way California "wildfires" never hit Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Palisades... Just look at all the rich people that lost their homes. Wildfires won't break out in Beverly Hills because it's in the middle of a fucking city. Anonymous Coward User ID: 66589173 United States 09/30/2022 11:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You DO NOT know what you are talking about. Point in case, Mexico Beach in the panhandle got wiped out by hurricane Michael….from the coast all the way up to the FL/AL state line- extremely poor areas- very few wealthy. Truth is, there is always a nearby poverty stricken area next to the mega wealthy area’s. There are also old neighborhoods that are just not able to withstand strong storms. Of course, the wealthy are going to build sturdier homes. Hurricane Andrew devastated lower south florida. Very poor areas inundated because they are in such a low lying part of florida. Stop talking out of your ass. Unless you live here and have been through several hurricanes, you have NO business making speculative statements. |

Not that hurricanes target wealthy people. It happens that usually only wealthy people can live on these islands and right on the beach these days. All coasts have wealthy people on them. The less wealthy are always further away from the water. |
