I got out during Obama. That switchover to online charting was stupid and time consuming. We were double charting, paper and online. That was just the tip of the iceberg. Obamacare was horrible and I knew it would all just get worse from there. I quit charting, I passed meds and did actual patient care, while finding alternative methods for narcotic disposal. I got out clean though. Barely.

My dad was in a nursing home in late 2021 early 2022. It's a very bad time to be in one. Most of them do not give a damn about the patient. That and C-diff is a very real risk for a lot of people. Not to mention, the costs.

Family member on my wife's side died last week.

- "sudden death"

- found dead sitting in her chair at her computer, so she died so fast she didn't even have time to fall over or attempt to call 911

- cause of death "unknown"

- she was a left wing trump hating lib

(Nice lady though, and as I recall she didn't bring up politics and wasn't nasty about it)

After ten years they will blame; old age, exercise, lack of exercise, to much sleep, to little sleep, cold, heat, to much sunlight, not enough sunlight, to much food, not enough food, coffee, tea and jello; even "unkown causes"; aka SADS; anything but the vaccine.

I don’t like nursing homes (seen a few decent ones though) but where would we put people who have no one to care for them? The streets? And many don’t have family or family that can take care of the level of care they need. We need good people to work these places and do what they can.
