Quoting: Zell Xan I had dreams I was with them and we were climbing into vehicles and amusement park rides and getting tossed around and actually getting dislodged form our seats or going up and down impossibly twisting roads. Cell phone reception, even for texts, is spotty. Was supposed to have been 'hardened' after charlie, but obviously not enough. Have family down there to. Getting sporadic texts. |

The traffic is insane and only certain parts of Florida evac. There was only 1 model in all of the spaghetti models that predicted its landfall.. Everything was predicting it hitting further north until it was already to late to get out. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 84276728 Germany 09/29/2022 02:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81591109 Most thought the storm was going to hit Tampa directly. That's what the forecast models were saying. It didn't take the eastward jog till yesterday morning. By then it was too late to do anything. They had to hunker down in place. You never really know with a hurricane. That's right, they got the track wrong. We thought it was coming up my way. Everyone here was out getting supplies and preparing, it was a zoo here. But, then it took a turn east and that was it. Too late for those people to leave. It takes a long time to prepare to evacuate, especially if you have kids, pets, elderly, etc. It's not as easy as people think. Right but anyone with a brain would understand that a storm this big is unpredictable and plan accordingly. I am empathetic but also a realist. If you were anywhere on the west coast of Florida you should have made some type of movement. Don't assume the track they predict is legit. Assume they know jack shit and do what you need to do. It wasn't supposed to be that big. They were telling everyone it would be a cat 1 and it blew up over night. Evacuating at the last minute isn't easy for some people. Uh thats bs they said it would hit at a CAT4 and it did |

By then it was too late. They didn't even have time to change the colors on the maps in Charlotte county. Northport was still yellow (good), when in fact parts should have been red. They would then have to spend hours at recharging stations, which would rapidly be clogged with other cars and trucks waiting their turn, since an electricity “fill up” can easily take an hour or more, as compared to a couple of minutes for gasoline. Cars waiting to be charged would spill onto the highways, potentially blocking traffic. [link to www.americanthinker.com (secure)] |

Then add in the scumbag insurance adjusters and companies that prey upon the survivors and it's definitely something most don't want to experience. that is the main reason i left in 1982, hard to make ends meet with those low ass wages, other than that i loved the state and all the beaches! To make matters worse, the lying bastards didn’t pay attention to the air currents which lacked the power and intensity to blow the fucking thing northward and into Tampa. The air currents were NEVER in a position to make it get to Tampa, and anyone with a fucking brain should have been on the fucking TV to say that. But nooooooo….. We had to get nothing but lies and bullshit from the fucking TV “scientists” who know Jack shit about anything. |

Like 100mph winds or 90 even, would be impossible to stand up in like the guy holding the sign. But, I have seen nothing like Andrew barreling through there. 155mph and there'd be scarcely a roof left. But, the aftermath I saw they just showed some boats rocked out of their berths. Small trees down and flooded streets. Yeah, water damage not wind damage. This is coming concurrent with King Tides and so water would be more of a problem in any case.
