If you choose to live in Florida you need a minimum rainy day fund of $1000 strictly for hurricane evac north + hotel/food

and get a machete

Same as in Texas, 'cept with us it is "get a shotgun" and some smokes.

Were they just not expecting it to be so bad in their area ?

Some people just don’t evacuate. We lived in Pensacola, I was there for Opal and Ivan, we lived right on the beach also. A couple people in our neighborhood didn’t evacuate for opal it was only cat 3, and suffered the consequences. We also went up to Georgia and stayed with my aunt.

I’ll never understand the people that stay, you have so many advanced warnings and yet people sit in their houses thinking they can weather 150 plus winds with storm surge for the coastal neighborhoods. Just fucking leave.
 Quoting: Rorschach Watchmen

even if you survive the aftermath is horrible

try living without power for 2 weeks

fuck that shit

anything over a cat 3 I'm out

that’s the thing

even if you’re up on the second floor, and you have food and water, and you’ve survived everything, now you’re not able to leave your house because of water and debris which means now you’re stuck with no refrigerator, no air-conditioning, and no flushing toilet
Forgive your enemies, it messes with their heads.

Thoughts create, mind them well.

As a survivior of a dozen hurricanes, man you really have to be either dumb or very unlucky to die in a hurricane.

Stay away from the shore and low lying flood plains and hunker in a safe structure like a concrete building or even a car that is parked away from trees.

I feel bad for the people that died but it only takes about 80Iq to know this kinda stuff. Its common sense.

I hope they get their lives back in order soon.

One of the most amazing natural disasters ever I think was the Joplin Missouri tornado. Incredible power and force.

Sad.

Both top Republican presidential runners will be blamed. Orange man bad and desatan. Pedo Joe will be our hero sending billions of dollars to help Floridians rebuild from DESANTIS's horrible response to Trump's global warming hurricane. The hurricane was a Republican.

No, actually, he told them they needed to take the vaccine for the hurricane.

Sanibel and Captiva islands in Florida are now CUT OFF as the only road in has completely split.

These islands are home to thousands. Luckily reports are there were only a few hundred people who stayed.
