LETS IT DIE Flood waters often contain flesh eating bacteria and should be avoided for that reason (I guess it comes from sewage treatment plants getting flooded). Several people died from the flesh eating virus in Houston after hurricane Harvey, including one in my area. Well that guy didn't die, but probably wished he did. He was out with a kayak paddling around the development and doing some wading as well. He had a mosquito bite which was the point of bacteria entry. Within about 3 days he had multiple surgeries to remove his liquified fat tissues and was on a non stop IV of antibiotics. Quoting: JustmeTX By the time he was released he looked like a rag doll that had been torn apart and sewed back together 20 times. Because essentially he was. We all love cute little kittys but if there is a risk to a person's life, they get to make that call whether to rescue or not. Many cat lovers would go for it. Maybe they would all get lucky. But like I said, in Houston there were quite a few people that actually died from it. They also got the bacteria from cleaning houses and stripping wallboard out of flood water contaminated homes. Most animals can manage to swim immediately enough to get out of a bit of water. There is a good chance the cat made it, unless there was something else going on. Jesus. Every one's a pussy now. "but muh flesh eating bacteria" I'd love to watch you make that argument in front of some hottie that wants you to save the kitten. If you saw that young man's photo after he got released, no hottie would touch him. Looked like he lost a fight with a room full of chain saws. ANd he probably had a hospital bill of a million dollars. If that Hottie wants to wade through sewage to rescue a kitty, she has 2 legs and can do it herself. Women are equal now remember? :) Last Edited by JustmeTX on 09/29/2022 09:15 AM Justme |

I remember replacing telephone poles and seeing a snake at the bottom of the hole. The whole crew discussed how to save it from being crushed by the new pole. |

LETS IT DIE I get the anger, I love animals too, but Dylan is not a bad person. I know him and I know that he is a caring young man and not a bad person like social media is trying to make him out to be. He is a young man, that did not act as rashly as others thought he should. But each and every one of us have done things that we wish we would have done differently later, and especially when we were young like Dylan is. He said the building was locked and I believe him. I also believed they tried to find the kitten. As others have said, the cat could have made it to safety. Maybe, it did and maybe it didn't, but I am not going to judge Dylan for what he did or did not do. I am sure Dylan is beating himself up enough over all this. |

People should not risk their lives or others to save a cat. Like mentally-stunted 10 year olds! If you ask a bunch of people what 2+2 equals, and they say 4, does that make them hive-minded? No. It makes them correct. There's a difference. Accusations of hive-mindedness should only be made when people arrive at a conclusion simply because the group has also arrived at that conclusion. That does not apply to this case, because the morally correct action was obviously to save the cat. The fact that you do not understand that, and even hurl venom at the rest of us marks you as the least among us. For intellectually challenged people such as yourself, note that the "risk to his life" in traversing a few inches of water was not that great. Take a good look in the mirror. Shoot a cat, save thousands of native species, that goes for your neighbors cat when it comes to raid the bird nest in your yard, no mercy. |

LMFAO, you shoot cats because you like killing, you don't give a fuck about saving native species, at least be honest about it. I love the old "feral cats are invasive and we need to protect the native species" and whilst that's true feral cats don't even hold a candle to the most invasive species of all, that's right us, human beings have killed more species than any other and by a LARGE margin. |

If we applied your twisted logic to all species, then we would have to shoot all predators on sight, not just cats. That is obviously a ridiculous position to take. If we do not apply your logic to all species, then it seems you are unfairly targeting cats - seemingly because you just hate cats. |
