Every one of these appear relatively simple but that is deceptive. There are a myriad of factors that complicate things and only trial and experience can help to overcome. Hand drill looks simple but the hand technique requires using as much of the palm as possible while also maintaining downward pressure. A couple of tries and most people develop blisters that make further tries impossible so you better succeed the first try. Knowing what plants and in what condition to use as a drill and fireboard then add in weather and local factors like humidity and temperature. Trying to start fire near water makes it much harder. Do this task atop a hill in the sunlight, give yourself every possible advantage.
You see him firing up bricks but even that takes well over a day and most of another to cool off enough to handle. Building that cabin was at least a week's work even for those who know what they're doing. If you mud mix is wrong they will crack and be useless, start over. get out and try this stuff is the only way to learn.
I spent years doing the same stuff and luckily had a partner whose skills complimented mine. He was great at the things I sucked at like setting traps and leather working. I had the tracking and plant knowledge. If you have friends learning you should each specialize in critical areas then get together to share what you've learned. Classes are an excellent way to learn but can be expensive.

O, I do not doubt that at all - he speeds up time and you forget how long thing take to dry/cool off. He simply makes it look easy but you still would need to find the right soil - environment.

For example the cuts he makes in the tile to catch the iron from creek sand in that little stream. You would need to find a spot just like that if you wish to emulate his ways.

Also for making fire there are many ways obviously. Everyone should at least try once and make fire without the conventional means. I did and it was not easy at all.
