Pessimist - Everything sucks. Positivity is naive. Tired of it all. We're pretty much fucked.
Realist - Everything is the way it is. Be observant and just. Do what must be done. What happens happens.

How would you describe yourself?

Is the glass half full, half empty, not exactly full or empty or does it just have water in it?

When I look at the current state of affairs and at my own life, I'd like to believe I've become more of a realist.

I'm not unrealistically positive in moments where everything is falling apart. I recognize sometimes very bad things happen and must be addressed. I'll still try to laugh and smile through it all, but there is certainly stress and holes that have to be crawled out of. I won't simply wear a smile when things have to change.

I'm not Eeyore. I'm no longer looking at the world as if everything is wrong because there is still so much that is right or has potential to be corrected and even improved. While I do think we are pretty fucked IN THE MOMENT "This too shall pass!" I believe being a pessimist makes one a less desirable guest and makes it difficult for people to absorb provided knowledge. There are still good things happening and great people.

I'm certainly not apathetic! This mentality to me has to be the absolute worst. Apathy destroys people and nations. This is the ostrich. Go and party away reality just to avoid it. Wide eyed and not absorbing or retaining. Generally not very empathetic toward others or aware of history. The absolute worst.

So which are you?

I think we've got war coming. I think our country is in it's absolute most tumultuous time since it's creation and the world has never seen a time this interconnected and dependent on cohesiveness. I don't believe the evil, hysteria, blasphemy and apathy or selfishness have ever been at this point in history. Not even the times of Sodom, Gamorrah, Babylon or the days of Noah.

Just being realistic.
