In the late 1970's early 1980's, I worked at Holiday Inn as a bartender, back up for the front desk,night auditor helper, chairperson for the safety committee, etc. I wore a lot of hats.
We had about 110 rooms, and we were expecting a convention(we had large banquet/convention facilities). A group had booked 51 rooms. Turns out, it was Hell's Angels.
The waitresses in the lounge ran away, literally, when all the bikers came in. Some of the bikers sat in the restaurant section, but none of the restaurant waitresses walked out, but they were a bit scared. Naw, they were terrified !
So, I was stuck by myself behind the bar. No waitresses to serve the bikers, just me. No one to help me get refills from the walk in cooler, just me. I also had to make all the drinks for the packed restaurant besides the lounge. I told all the customers, since all my waitresses deserted me, that they will have to come up to the bar and get their drinks, no one to serve them at the tables.
All of them were nice and respectful, except for one jerk. FTR, I am small, 4'11" and 90 pounds. The lone jerk came up to me and demanded a drink NOW. I told him I would get to him as soon as I could, as I was a bit swamped. He started yelping some crap at me as I was making drinks as fast as I could for some other guys. I turned around in a fury, looked at him and said "if you want to act up, and not wait your turn, you will think you are in the desert, as you will get nothing to drink in this lounge" !!! Some of the other bikers started laughing, as this puny little thing, ME, told this big hulking Hell's Angel off, LOL !!! FYI, the jerk walked away, looking shamed, LOL !!!
