My mom's condo is on the first floor. I'm praying for no storm surge....jeebus, she didn't get any flood insurance.

Honestly, I don't know how she couldn't of gotten flood insurance living right on the water in FLORIDA....

It's going to be a mess afterwards....such a mess. And she's 83 years old. Fuck me running.

On another note: I'm really very happy I'm not living in FL anymore....

Flood insurance is a scam. Your mom probably knew that. They will claim overland flooding did the damage or the wind damaged allowing rain in.

They screwed over so many before.

I can’t find anything recent from Sanibel Island.
The flooding was extreme at last report. Reed Timmer was there, for a total of 36 people known to have stayed.
If you have heard anything different, any contact with Sanibel, please let me know. I know one of those who stayed and haven’t can’t get in touch.

Ian is going to set back Florida far. After a battery of them that we got one summer, the insurance rates went up higher than peoples mortgage payments. The real estate market crashed there, and so many houses on nearly every street was in foreclosure for awhile afterwards.

I lived there 15 years. This is terrible for Florida.
