We don't even order coffee or any other drink from restaurants anymore. They charge way more than they're worth so it's just water for us. I'll make my own coffee or tea when I get home and it taste much better anyway.

Cracker barrel is fine for when are traveling on the road and you want to stop and have a meal that is not fast food.

They get you in and out quickly and it's decent food for a decent price, Recent inflation notwithstanding

OP, you're either just lying or your really stupid. I just went to their website and confirmed. I also know a friend that has no idea what good food is and also eats at that shithole and said they have a full menu like always.

My late MIL loved that place. As did my late grandmother. I agree with the poster who called it iconic American food. Sadly it..like so much about this country is quickly become just a fond memory.

I went out for breakfast this morning at a local diner.

Potato egg scramble and a Bloody Mary was 35$
That was 5$ more than Denny’s crappy breakfast with no drink.

Yup. Cheap food that they charge too much for. A couple of eggs and some toast and some coffee. So easy and inexpensive to make at home. Or just skip breakfast. Go out for lunch or dinner. Those are meals that count. Get something you wouldn’t make at home.

Sometimes people have to eat out. And these things are at interstate exits. So, i do get how people wind up there.

I went once with some in-laws. Nothing special food was meh.

We sometimes eat at a Cracker Barrel on Interstate 16 in Dublin, Georgia. The last two times we stopped, we ended up leaving. They said that the wait (both times) was going to be 30 minutes and the restaurant had plenty of empty tables. I asked about the long wait and the greeters said that they were short-staffed in the kitchen. People aren't showing up for work. Never seen it like this in this particular location.

Also, Cracker Barrel is not hiring the same people. We have a new "woke" crowd at our location. In addition, the items in the store have really increased in price. Some of the souvenirs or holiday items have nearly doubled in price.

For what we paid the last time that we actually ate there, we could have gone to Longhorn Steakhouse next door.

Went to yhe one on Montauk Hiway off Moses Causeway.
The one in Montauk Point is great.
Packed with fisherman at 3 am eating best blueberry pancakes with eggs homefries and coffee.

I am trying to remember the last time I ate out; it was a long time ago. So, one time long about I ate at Cracker Barrel my husband liked it, I didn't.

Yeah way better and more memorable. Quit being zombies and start living!

And the portion control... As just one example a side of mac and cheese is now so tiny its a joke.

I will pay a higher price but when the amount of food I receive gets cut I'm done with the place.

We at one time loved Cracker Barrel and would visit about once a month for the last 20 years. During my last visit a few weeks ago the family and I decided then we will not be returning. Its simply no longer worth the money and I was still hungry wanting more food.
