The spot it's sitting over is where there's a counter clockwise current that sits there all year round and spins almost like a weak whirlpool. Who knows what can happen with that thing there... https://imgur.com/a/g9R8K8K Last Edited by Florid Aman on 09/25/2022 11:50 PM I'm a realist, trapped in a fairytale. Send help. |

My Mexican winter place was completely flattened, and I never rebuilt. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77723688 Stay safe, and don't go outdoors! I was nearly cut in half by some roofing tin when I went out to check on my vehicle. Yikes, yeah, everything is a weapon in those high winds. Can't imaging losing your place like that :( Last time we had storm blow through, it was at night again. It was supposed to be like a cat 4/5, direct hit, but it slowed down and veered away, maybe top gusts were at 70/75 MPH, but not sustained, but still was pretty intense. |

Quoting: ozillator LOL, they're going nuts, Costco and Sam's both had lines to the back of the store, like 25 deep in carts. Saw one guy had 10 cases of paper towels, like what the actual F, just so greedy. I bought one case and it quite literally filled my laundry room. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79337680 United States 09/26/2022 12:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We've not had a direct hit here by a hurricane since the 50s I believe, very long time ago. Quoting: Keilani I remember listening to interviews of people that were hit by hurricanes or bad tropical storms, that it was very quiet day before, no birds. Today I have heard no birds, very quiet. I know the indians knew the '28 Okeechobee storm was coming and fled. They could tell my animals I guess, no radar or stuff like that back then. My sister said the bats were acting crazy today. There are bats in a building next to her and they couldn't leave this morning because the bats were circling and acting very aggressive and crazy. I LERN A LOT ABOUT INCOMING DANGER FROM THE WILDBIRDS I FEED Can birds sense hurricanes? Research has shown that birds can hear infrasound and are sensitive to barometric pressure , so they know when a storm is on its way -- especially when the storm is as large and as powerful as a hurricane. Can birds predict earthquake? Birds and bats might serve the purpose because of their ability to detect magnetic fields. This capability probably helps the creatures navigate –but it could also allow them to sense earthquakes before they strike. |

I agree with you completely, not just birds, but insects, alligators, fish, pretty much all of them. Remember reading story about that huge earthquake in India and how the elephants knew and left beforehand and other animals. People too, I remember babysitting for a kid that his mom said that he freaks out in storms and can sense them before they come, I didn't believe her, but he didn't freak out for me, but he knew when a storm was coming when it was miles away. |

Not here, lots of birds usually, we'll see tomorrow, I have to work early, but later I'm going to go out and look to see what wildlife I can find. One other thing I forgot to mention is a turtle left our pond and was on the road, I mean that has happened before, but if I see a lot more then that would be weird. |
