sounds like Ukraine would benefit alot from Russia using a nuclear weapon...

U.S. is already conducting conventional military strikes against Russian forces in Ukraine, so that's a moot point.

On the other hand, should U.S. respond with tactical nuclear strikes of its own in Ukraine (which can only favor Russia, because that would be my ideal plan coming true, and it's the one of showing the whole world what happens when you let the CIA/U.S. occupy you by non-military means... followed by military means), then the most obvious Russian retaliatory step would be to nuke U.S. installations in all the European countries close to Russia -- Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria (all NATO members, but who gives a fuck by that point).

Nuking of those U.S. installation is the very thing I've been suggesting from the very beginning, and it seems that Russians will (once again!) be forced to do what they should've done in the first place (before invading Ukraine).

When you're dealing with the (U.S.) psychopaths, the only thing you can expect is escalation, because they'll just do what all psychopaths do -- constantly and consistently (as in absolutely predictably) double down.

As long as U.S. keeps doubling down (and it will, for as long as its own territory isn't threatened by nukes... Europe and NATO can be blown to either Hell or Heaven, U.S. psychos just don't care), Russians have no other good options but to keep doubling down themselves... because they're not ready (read: mentally capable) to launch first strike against the U.S... which, in the end, is yet another thing that they will be forced to do, but should really have done from the very beginning.

Indeed just like how the Syrian us back rebels benefited from using captured chemical weapons on civilians and trying to pass the blame onto the Syrian government.
